Some dogs and/or some behaviours cannot be fully addressed with private lessons. The dog has too much history or there isn't enough time and/or consistency that allows you and your dog to make progress. That's okay. That's what the Extended Training Program is for.

Two things that make my training program very successful for changing a dog's behaviour:

I have zero history with the dog which gives me a blank slate for our relationship. Secondly, I choreograph and engineer all of the dog's time- the training environment, other people and dogs involved and more.

This fresh start and consistency combined with the actual training, allows progress and success far beyond what is accomplished in private lessons. This very thoughtful and deliberate approach never takes a dog beyond their capacity for productive learning.

Graduate Tyson (left) came for a follow lesson while Winston (right) was in training

so and we put them and Django (center) to the test!

Three male dogs (two of them intact...) all of them have a history of reactivity, getting in fights with other dog and biting a person bad enough to require several stitches.

The first thing with every dog is getting to know them and building a trusting relationship. This requires clear and fair communication, structure, boundaries among other things.

Once we have a genuine relationship, we take our training to the next level. By adding  layers of difficulty, complexity and stress to our training it ensures that it will hold up in all environments and situations.

There is no point in training a dog in a sterile environment or under specific or ideal conditions. By taking dogs into Real Life environments and situations, we tests our training. Most environments and situations we go through with our dogs are NOT sterile or ideal so it's imperative we do the best job we can in "life-proofing" our training.

Take a look at our Extended Training Program graduates and their adventures!

Our dog training adventures take us all over Barrie and Simcoe County- parks across the city, dog friendly stores, the downtown area and waterfront and when there's opportunity, events like the Farmer's Market, Barrie Air Show and Winterfest. We also meet up with other trusted canine professionals for safe exposure to neutral dogs.

As a dog lover and owner and as a professional trainer, it is very important
that I maintain the highest standards for healthy and safety, quality of care, husbandry, and, training for every dog I work with.
I DO NOT take the responsibility of caring for another person's beloved dog lightly.

Learn more about what sets myself apart from other trainers, here is a short article
with insight into the difference between them and what I do.
